What the Endeavour Magazine article covers

Eric and David are close friends. After two decades in the industry, they felt ready to take the risk of starting their own company, one they'd be proud to put their name to. However, they had no private equity or unlimited funds. So all OWL could do was ask people to take a gamble on them, if they liked the model.

“All of the people we hired took risks, because they were in good jobs and all we could promise them was a year’s salary with no guarantee that this was going to work.”

That gamble paid off. In fact, seven years later, the original staff and management team were all still in place.

The feature also explains what that experience gives customers. Many of OWL's leaders and key staff have worked on the customer's side of the fence. As a result, they understand it in a way not every logistics provider can.

“When we use that tagline, ‘We speak fluent Customer’, we mean that we literally have been the customer.”

So OWL can meet customers' needs in a way other logistics companies may not. Instead of talking in logistics acronyms, OWL pairs each client with staff who know their industry. Sometimes, those staff have worked in it even longer than the customer. The result is a better, more relevant service.
