OWL announces another strategic office opening in Sri Lanka

The OWL family is growing! We expect to open our new Sri Lanka office in early 2020.

OWL’s Asian division will share the news shortly, as part of our growth in the subcontinent. All OWL Apparel and Retail customers in North America, the UK and Europe will get access to our latest technology investment (Mercado Labs). They'll also get first-class consolidation. On top of that, they'll enjoy the world-class service they already know from our other offices and facilities across Asia.

Why is the Sri Lanka office important?

The office is ideally placed to give our customers insight into the region. As a result, they can use our local expertise to source directly from Central and North Asia and the subcontinent.

The office will also help us make the most of growing trade between China and Sri Lanka. In addition, it will bring expertise in import infrastructure projects to support the local government.

Who is heading up the team?

The team will include local Sri Lankans, Americans and Chinese staff. That way, it can serve our key clients in Sri Lanka and help with in-country sourcing. Look out for more news on the team in the coming weeks.

What does this mean for you?

A dedicated team will run our Colombo office and warehouse. So our customers can count on our local knowledge, international expertise and wide network in the region.

Why now?

Sri Lanka has long been on our list for expansion. Last April’s Easter Day bombings left the country's business community feeling uncertain. So we feel it matters, right now, for Sri Lanka to see an American and Chinese company place real faith in its people. We will not back down to the fear that can devastate a country’s business environment.

OWL CEO Eric Seamon and his Sri Lankan wife, Thushara Fernando, have made a home in Sri Lanka. OWL and their family have also pledged significant support to the Gangodawilla Orphanage. In turn, that support is improving living conditions for the young girls who live there.
