Origins / Cambodia
Shipping from Cambodia with our own team in Phnom Penh, planning every relay to the US.
Cambodia
Our Phnom Penh team manages orders, suppliers, bookings and consolidation at the source. Most US cargo moves by barge or truck from Phnom Penh to Cai Mep in Vietnam to meet the mainline vessel, and our team works to its cut-offs.
Many factories are foreign-owned and use imported fabric and components, so origin evidence matters. We help you keep bills of materials and supplier records together, and every PO, container and SKU shows in OWL Vision from PO issuance to final delivery.

What it makes
Most export factories sit around Phnom Penh, in the special economic zones near the Vietnam border and around Sihanoukville.
Knit and woven garments from factories in and around Phnom Penh, Kandal and Kampong Speu.
Luggage, bags and handbags, one of Cambodia’s biggest lines to the US, made around the capital.
Footwear from the Phnom Penh area and the special economic zones at Bavet, near the Vietnam border.
Bicycles and light manufacturing in the Svay Rieng and Bavet zones, a short truck run from Ho Chi Minh City’s ports.
Tires and rubber products from the Sihanoukville special economic zone.
Furniture and luggage from the Sihanoukville special economic zone, alongside garments.
Know before you ship
The rules and rhythms that catch importers out. Rates and rules change fast, so check the latest before you commit.
There are no direct US sailings from Cambodian ports, so feeder schedules and cut-offs drive the timeline, and a missed connection usually costs about a week. The ISF is due 24 hours before loading on the mainline vessel at the hub.
Techo International (KTI) replaced Phnom Penh International (PNH) for commercial flights in September 2025. Update your booking data and routing guides.
US GSP, which once covered many Cambodian travel goods, lapsed at the end of 2020 and has not been renewed. The EU’s Everything But Arms scheme only applies to exports to Europe.
Many factories use Chinese fabric, components and rubber. US Customs looks at substantial transformation and Xinjiang-linked inputs, so keep sourcing records for apparel and travel goods.

Our team in Cambodia
Our Phnom Penh team follows up with suppliers, tracks production and books the barge or truck to Vietnam and the mainline vessel beyond it. They work closely with our Ho Chi Minh City team, so the handover at Cai Mep is one conversation, not two.
Plan around the holidays
Khmer New Year in mid-April, Pchum Ben in September or October and the Water Festival around November are the big three, and workers often travel home for longer than the official days. Our factory closure calendar has the dates for the next ten years, with book-by dates.
Cargo from Phnom Penh usually connects with a mainline vessel at Cai Mep in Vietnam. It typically reaches Los Angeles or Long Beach in about three to five weeks port to port, and New York in about five and a half to seven weeks. Sihanoukville cargo relays via Singapore or other hubs and typically takes five to six weeks to the West Coast.
No regular transpacific service calls at Cambodian ports, so US-bound containers transship at a hub such as Cai Mep, Singapore or a Chinese port. Good feeder planning keeps that relay from adding unnecessary days.
Techo International Airport (KTI) replaced Phnom Penh International (PNH) in September 2025. There are no direct freighters to the US, so air cargo connects through regional hubs such as Hong Kong, Singapore, Seoul or Bangkok.
No. The EU’s Everything But Arms scheme only applies to exports to the EU. US GSP, which once covered many Cambodian travel goods, lapsed at the end of 2020, so US imports pay normal duties.
The biggest closures are Khmer New Year in mid-April, Pchum Ben in September or October and the Water Festival around November. Many workers travel home, so production often stops for longer than the official holidays. Chinese-owned factories may also close for Chinese New Year.
